What We Do

Mahoning County 4-H has a variety of events and activities for youth ages 5-19. Over 1,100 members find educational and entertaining opportunities in one or more of the 75 community clubs in the county, as well as in programs such as Junior Camp, CARTEENS, Cloverbud Day Camp, and Junior Fair. There are over 200 different 4-H projects offered, led by 302 adult volunteers. Goats, llamas, horses, crafts, welding, clothing, nutrition, and gardening projects are among the many interest areas available. In addition, 4-H youth can get involved in their communities through state 4-H workshops, volunteer activities that help community needs, state and national 4-H trips and educational, hands-on activities, all designed to advance positive youth development traits. Young people ages 5-8 take part in 4-H through Cloverbud groups which allow them to be members on a non-competitive basis. If you would like information about joining 4-H, email our 4-H Educator or Program Assistant for more information on a group you might want to join. Already a member? Find whatever it is you need to know here or shoot an email to Janice or Katie.
