The Naturalist Series invites subject matter experts to share their knowledge and research regarding different aspects of nature. Topics range from animals, plants, insects, and more. All events cost $5 per class or $30 for the 2026 Naturalist Series. Classes are held at 6:30 pm in the Mahoning County Extension Office.

Aquatic ecosystems are vital indicators of environmental health and play a critical role in water quality, wildlife habitat, and community resilience. This presentation will explore local streams, rivers, and wetlands in Mahoning County, highlighting aquatic organisms, watershed connections, and how human activities influence aquatic systems. Participants will also learn simple ways they can help protect and improve local waterways.
