Naturalist Series: Ticks in Ohio

The Naturalist Series invites subject matter experts to share their knowledge and research regarding different aspects of nature. Subjects range from animals, plants, insects, and more. All these events are $5 ($30 for the whole series) and occur at 6:30 pm in the Mahoning County Extension Office. 

An Update on Ticks in Ohio

  • Ohio has gone from one tick of medical importance to humans, companion animals, and livestock in the past twenty years to five now, including two new ticks in the past few years.  This has caused an increase in disease transmission including fatalities in cattle.  Learn the state of ticks in Ohio and how you can keep yourself, your family, and your animals tick-safe.
