Weather, Climate, and Climate Change Impacts on the Environment
- How often do we find ourselves asking, what's up with the weather? Weather is such a vital force in our lives and something that we experience daily. Evidence clearly demonstrates that our weather patterns, or climate, are changing. But the changes we experience depend greatly on where we live. In this presentation, we will discuss the observed changes in temperature and precipitation over recent decades, from a global overview to local changes right here in Ohio. We will highlight the key impacts on our environment, from plants and animals to natural resources, gardening, and communities. We will end our discussion on ways we can individually and collectively adapt to and mitigate future expected changes.
- Speaker: Aaron Wilson, State Climatologist of Ohio; Assistant Professor - Ag Weather and Climate Field Specialist, Department of Extension
