Join us for a 3 hour workshop on spotted wing Drosophila (SWD) to be held at OSU Extension, Mahoning County. This relatively new pest in Ohio has caused significant injury on blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, grapes, and peaches.
Learn the basics of pest management including how to monitor adults with baited traps, how to use effective cultural controls, and how to manage SWD with insecticides if the pest is detected. We will also demonstrate how to use a salt water test on ripe fruit to determine if SWD larvae are present.
