Venison 101: Harvest to Table

Location: Canfield Fairgrounds (7265 Columbiana-Canfield Rd, Canfield, OH 44406) & OSU Extension Office (490 S. Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406)
****Participants must use Gate 9 and Entrance G to enter the Canfield Fairgrounds***
OSU Extension Mahoning County, in partnership with the Ohio Division of Wildlife, invites you to a unique Harvest to Table workshop focused on venison.
This hands-on program will walk participants through the entire process:

Harvesting a deer on-site (including gutting, preparation for hanging, and cutting)

Using different cuts to make jerky and sausage
-
Preserving venison through canning and freezing
-
Cooking and nutrition tips for your table
Participants will also enjoy Venison Tacos, provided by the Ohio Division of Wildlife.

Cost: $20 (covers mileage for expert presenters)

Class Size: Limited to 30 participants. Payment is required to register.

Refund Policy: No refunds will be issued after October 1.

Other Notes: Event is held rain or shine. Please bring a lawn chair if standing for long periods is a concern.
