    The ServSafe® program provides accurate, up-to-date information for all levels of employees on handling of food, from receiving and storing to preparing and serving. Upon successful completion of the course and exam, participants receive a Certificate of Completion from ServSafe® and a Certification in Food Protection from the Ohio Department of Health.

    Join OSU Extension as we explore science, technology, environment, agriculture, and mindfulness through fun hands-on activities!

    Free summer day camps for grades 3rd and above in the Sebring and Struthers areas.

    Camps run 9 am - 3 pm with lunch provided.

  4. Aug. 14, 2024 6:00pm

    Join us on August 14, 2024, at 6 pm to preserve fresh flavors from the garden long after the growing season by creating a decorative bottle of infused vinegar.  Each student will receive a packet of recipes and they will each fill, design, and seal a bottle with unique flavor combinations of herbs and spices, perfect to use, display, or give as a gift.

    All workshops cost $25 per participant.

  5. Aug. 15, 2024 10:00am

    Join Master Gardener Volunteers to learn how to reduce fatigue and increase productivity by using these tools and techniques as you garden. We will discuss the use of raised beds and containers, adaptive tools, plant selection, and gardening style changes.  

    Registration is $15 and includes the program, coffee, tea, a light breakfast, and handouts.

    The Naturalist Series invites subject matter experts to share their knowledge and research regarding different aspects of nature. Subjects range from animals, plants, insects, and more. All these events are $5 ($30 for the whole series) and occur at 6:30 pm in the Mahoning County Extension Office.

    The Mahoning County OSU Extension Office is closed today and will reopen on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

  8. Sep. 11, 2024 6:00pm

    Join us on September 11, 2024, at 6 pm to make decorative pots for the garden and patio using alcohol and inks. All materials and a pot will be provided per participant!

    All workshops cost $25 per participant.

    Pollinator gardens can be successful depending on the amount of time spent on preparation and planting. Not much prep work can result in a less-than-average amount of pollinators visiting your garden. Join Master Gardener Volunteers to discuss ways to plan a better garden layout and protect the pollinators who arrive.
