    The Mahoning County OSU Extension Office is closed today and will reopen on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

    Join Master Gardener Volunteers as we discuss an overview of growing a variety of herbs. We will present how to obtain optimum results from planting to harvesting, as well as preserving. 

    Registration is $15 and includes the program, coffee, tea, a light breakfast, and handouts.

    The Naturalist Series invites subject matter experts to share their knowledge and research regarding different aspects of nature. Subjects range from animals, plants, insects, and more. All these events are $5 ($30 for the whole series) and occur at 6:30 pm in the Mahoning County Extension Office.

  5. Jul. 10, 2024 6:00pm

    Join us on July 10, 2024, at 6 pm to transform your rusty old shovel into a one-of-a-kind planter. All materials will be provided including some herb plants to help get you started, but you may want to bring your gloves and a pair of needle nose pliers.

    All workshops cost $25 per participant.

    Come and explore the many options of Color in Winter with the Master Gardener Volunteers. Come November, we all start thinking about holiday centerpieces, porch decorations, and wreaths. But the true colors of the holidays begin long before. Planting the reds of dogwoods, winterberry, and holly; the yellows of dogwoods, cypresses, and arborvitae; and the deep greens of cedar, spruce, and pine come in spring and fall.
